According to sources, Jamie had to undergo a leg amputation while he was in the hospital last month. The amputation was the result of several unsuccessful surgeries to contain a bad infection in his leg. Unfortunately, TMZ reports that Jamie is still not doing well even after the major surgery.

The sources also suggest that Jamie’s health issues may bring him and his daughter closer together. It’s unclear if the two hospitalizations are connected, but Jamie was previously hospitalized in August after complications from a knee replacement surgery he had done years ago.

Furthermore, Jamie Lynn Spears, Jamie’s other daughter, had to abruptly leave the reality show she was competing on due to medical reasons. Although she hasn’t shared the specifics, there are speculations that her father’s health may be the reason for her departure.
